Robert McNair Passes, Arrangements Set
Longtime Ontario horse owner and breeder Robert ‘Bob’ McNair passed away suddenly last night at the Bruce Lea Haven in Walkerton, Ontario. He was 74
.
Bob and his wife, Gwen, were active in standardbred racing for more than 40 years and raced and/or bred such good horses as Son Of Grace, Speed Galore, Graces Dream, Game William, GG Garney, GG Jake, GG Mickee and Regan Speed.
In addition to Gwen, Bob is survived by three children, Cheryl, Tracey and Gregg, one of Canada’s top trainers, as well as four grandchildren, three of which (Amy, Doug and Scott) are all active in racing.
A celebration of the life will be held at Rob’s Sports Bar and Roadhouse, 120 Scott Street, Walkerton, Ont., from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 23.
