Allamerican Motive Upsets In WFR Feature
Dave Wall mapped out a sweet trip for Allamerican Motive in Monday’s $14,800 Preferred Pace at Western Fair Raceway, and the gelding took full advantage of it en route to
posting an upset victory.
Allamerican Motive, who hangs his harness bag in the barn of trainer Jerry Sims, took an early tuck into the five-hole while Clowns Smile blasted to the lead and chopped out early splits of :28.2 and :58.4 before coming under pressure from Bob Watts. Those two sparred to the three-quarter pole in 1:27.2, with Allamerican Motive tracking them from second over.
When Wall flipped the switch on Allamerican Motive, the five-year-old son of Four Starzzz Shark kicked out a :29.1 closing panel. That was good enough to earn him the narrow score over Bob Watts, with Monster In Law closing well to finish third.
Sims shares ownership on the seven-time winner with Dr. Paul Gatfield of London, ON. The lion’s share of the purse boosted his bankroll to $111,163.
