Copley Hits Grand Slam At Rideau
On the heels of surpassing the $1 million mark in seasonal earnings, trainer Jamie Copley put together an impressive four-win performance on Thursday evening
at Rideau Carleton Raceway..
Copley pushed this year’s win total to 196, and that’s good for a third-place ranking among leading trainers in Canada this season. Only Rene Allard (224) and Richard Moreau (201 wins) have sent more horses to the winner’s circle in 2010.
Candy N Apples (1:59.2) was Copley’s first winner on the card as a result of a two-length triumph in Race 3. Stablemate Manet Hanover (2:01.2) made it back-to-back wins for trainer Copley thanks to his one-length score in Race 4. Gracie Montana (1:57.2) clicked in Race 10 to complete the hat trick, and Most Notable Lindy (2:00.2) earned Copley the Grand Slam when he powered off to a 3-3/4 length decision Race 12.
The dream season is one that saw Copley double last year’s output in categories such as wins (196 vs. 85), earnings ($1,022,052 vs. $402,753) and UTR (.420 vs .360).
