Golden Receiver waited patiently in the pocket Monday, then poured through the Lightning Lane to capture his second straight $22,500 Preferred Handicap Pace

at The Meadows.

Martys Charm led through a sharp three-quarters in 1:23.3 but could'nt withstand the late surge of Golden Receiver, who blazed the final panel in 27.2 and scored in 1:51.1 for Dave Palone. Martys Charm was 1-1/4 lengths back in second with Handsome Prince third.

Mark Harder trains Golden Receiver, a five-year-old Village Jove-Royal Gold gelding who now boasts $386,725 in career earnings, for Stable 45, Richard Taylor, Stephen Springer and Nina Simmonds.

Palone, Brett Miller and Mike Wilder each drove three winners on the 15-race card.
