Dali captured the richest event during Monday’s 15-race program at Dover Downs, and the victory marked the pacer’s first score over the oval since his World Record-setting performance as a three-year-old

.

The five-year-old son of Real Artist, who was beaten in each of his last three starts, ripped through fractions of :27.2, :56 and 1:24 for driver Tim Tetrick before using a :27.3 final quarter to seal the deal by two lengths in a time of 1:51.3. Sent off as the 1-5 favourite, Dali defeated a hard-closing Harlingen Hanover, with Jeremys Successor rounding out the top three finishers in the $35,000 Preferred Handicap for pacers.

Tony Alagna trains the gelding for the Uncirculated Stable of Brantford, ON along with the VIP Internet Stables LLC of Piscataway, NJ. It was the pacer’s seventh win of the 2010 campaign, and it pushed his lifetime win total 21. The victory bumped the pacer’s overall earnings to $1,427,613.
