Trot Insider has learned that avid horse owner Gerald 'Gerry' Munroe of Kitchener, Ont. passed away on Wednesday, December 8. He was 81

.

Munroe was an avid horse owner, and most recently found success with two-year-old Rocknroll Hanover colt Arockin Hanover.

When Gerry passed, he was surrounded by Denise, his wife of 55 years, and his five children: Deborah (husband Richard), Shaun (wife Sharon), Alison (husband Rick), Janice and Greg (wife Marisa).

Visitation and funeral has already taken place, but for Gerry's Montreal friends and family, a memorial service and his eventual burial will take place late spring 2011 at Notre-Dame Des Neiges Cemetery in Montreal.

Donations on behalf of Gerry can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
