Atlantic Sires Stakes Launches New Website
The Atlantic Standardbred Breeders Association, which sponsors the Atlantic Sires Stakes program, has announced the launch of a website dedicated to the Atlantic Sires Stakes racing program.
"The website provides a wealth of information about the racing series, which showcases the best young horses in the region. We hope breeders, owners, trainers, drivers and racing fans find it informative," says Lynne MacLennan, executive director of the ASBA.
"We know there will be a great deal of interest in the Atlantic Sires Stakes point standings, which will be updated on a regular basis, as these points determine what horses will be eligible to participate in the Atlantic Breeders Crown Championship at the end on the season," MacLennan adds.
Advertising space will also be available on the site and may be of interest to those selling yearlings or to owners of stallions registered with the Atlantic Sires Stakes program.
A full slate of Atlantic Sires Stakes races will take place at seven racetracks in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island this year. The season culminates with the Atlantic Breeders Crown championship, which will take place at the Charlottetown Driving Park in Prince Edward Island in October.
The Atlantic Sires Stakes program has been promoting the sport of harness racing for over forty years and purse monies this year are expected to top the million-dollar mark by the end of the season.
The provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island generously support the Atlantic Sires Stakes program. In addition, the Atlantic Lottery Corporation and the Woodbine Entertainment Group contribute greatly to the success of the racing series.
