Red Star Hottie Wins Chester Feature
Having dominated the top distaff ranks at the Meadows for much of 2010, the Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi's Red Star Hottie ($7.40) prevailed in Friday (November 26) afternoon's $32,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Harrah's Chester
.
The five-year-old As Promised mare was under no pressure through a :56.2 half mile before pushing clear from the pocket-sitting B Intensified (George Napolitano) by 3-1/2 lengths on the backstretch through a :26.4 third quarter. With signs of fatigue beginning to show nearing head-stretch, Yannick Gingras implored Red Star Hottie for everything she had, and it turned out to be more than enough, as she held off B Intensified and odds-on favourite Cuz She Can (Tim Tetrick) for a three-quarters length victory, stopping the timer in 1:52.

A pair of late closing events kick off on Monday (November 29) afternoon at Harrah's Chester, with 36 entries for the I-95 series split into five divisions, while five splits of the Blue Route series attracted 40 entries. The I-95, for older pacers, is led by the likes of Riggins, Southwestern Dream, Lucky Bettor, and Special Report, while the Blue Route for four-year-olds and younger on the pace has attracted entries such as Diablo Seelster, No Monkeys Allowed, and St Elmo Hero.
The finals of the I-95 and Blue Route series will be held on the last Monday of the meet, December 20.
