Daley Returns Home For Miracle Mile
This Saturday night's $500,000 Miracle Mile at Menangle in Australia is creating a lot of buzz about the possibility of producing the first sub-1:50 mile in the country
.
Noel Daley, one of North America’s top 20 money-earning trainers this year who was born in Queensland, will be down under on business and is looking forward to attending the Miracle Mile. He believes harness racing history could be made in the southern hemisphere.
“I wouldn't miss it for the world, it will be one heck of a race,” Daley told Harness Racing Australia. “It was a super competitive race last year but the talk is very good about the depth of the field this time around, it should be very interesting.
“All horses are in outstanding form and the barrier draw has played a pivotal part to the possible outcome of the event.”
Monkey King won last year’s inaugural edition of the Miracle Mile setting an Australian record of 1.50.8, which was then lowered to 1:50.5 just last weekend by Washakie in the $50,000 Cordina Sprint.
Monkey King and Washakie will face a field of 10 including Canadian-sired pacer Mr Feelgood and four-time Inter Dominion champion Blacks A Fake, who will threaten Gallo Blue Chip’s standardbred earnings record for pacers.
Here is a look at the complete field in post position order:
1. Rohan Home
