Series Finals Highlight Kawartha Card

$14,000 Fall Trotting Series Claiming Final and the $13,900 Just For The Boys Final.
Pearl Of Capri was too much for her trotting foes – both male and female – in the Fall Trotting Series Claiming Final for trainer/driver Tomas Dalborg. The heavily-favoured four-year-old daughter of Famously took over command shortly after the quarter pole and never looked back from that point on. She drew off to win by 2-1/4 lengths in a time of 1:58.2 over Mustang Mirabel. Jaypee Gill Cherie was a distant third in the nine-horse affair.
Eirik Djuve of Sola, Norway owns the 18-time winner, who is now 3-for-10 this season. The $7,000 payday boosted the mare’s earnings to $125,392.
Jebswesternshake drew off to win by three lengths in the Just For The Boys Series Final for the tandem of driver James MacDonald and trainer Laura Winacott. The five-year-old son of Western Hanover, who was a 1:56.1 winner in last week’s elimination, front-stepped his way to victory lane in an identical clocking of 1:56.1. in today’s finale. Uncle Josh came first over and wound up finishing second, while Senateur Mirabel rounded out the top three.
Vince Orlando of Leamington and Angie Brewer of Puslinch, ON share ownership on the gelding, who improved his 2010 record to 4-3-0 from just nine trips postward. The seven-time winner is just shy of $50,000 in lifetime earnings.
