Arrests In BC Casino-Related Robberies
Great Canadian Gaming Corporation Vice President Howard Blank has gone on the record as saying that the organization's River Rock Casino in British Columbia is safe
. His comments came after Police arrested three men after patrons of the River Rock were robbed at their home after returning from the casino.
According to a report by The Province, two unnamed Vancouver residents were robbed by two men at about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2 after having returned home from the River Rock.
The article explains that surveillance began at the casino the next day, and it was clear that the suspects were targeting another victim. The suspects were then apprehended by the Emergency Response Team.
“We’re probably one of the safest places you could go to, and the bad guys know that — that’s why they stay away,” said Blank, who also stated that the casino has no problem issuing cheques whether patrons win "$100 or $100,000."
The three suspects are 20-year-old Daniel Sheng Long Hoong, his 18-year-old brother, William Wei Lun Hoong, and Yan Wang, 30. Wang is reportedly known to police.
All three face a long list of charges which include robbery with a firearm and firearms-related offences.
