"We have consensus, we have a bill, call the bill and help us pass this if you want to see this industry survive into the future," Illinois Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association Spokesman Mike Campbell was quoted as saying in an article by ABC News.

The group has said that the legislation is needed due to increased competition for gambling dollars both in and out of state.
