Industry Marketing Position Open
Standardbred Canada is seeking applicants for the position of Marketing Co-ordinator for the Industry Marketing
Department.
The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s mandate of creating programs and resources which assist member racetracks with developing the fan base for harness racing.
This position requires an energetic self-starter with excellent planning, organizational and communication skills, outstanding computer skills, and a solid understanding of the horse racing industry. Bilingualism is an asset.
A recent education in marketing or event co-ordination, or two to three years experience in a marketing environment is required.
Primary duties include planning, co-ordination and execution of national events and programs, co-ordinating educational and youth initiatives, and managing the department’s social media applications.
The successful candidate will be a team player, detail-minded and be able to work independently and with minimum direction. This position involves some travel and will require some evening and weekend work.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, or equivalent
- 2-3 years proven marketing experience
- Knowledge of harness racing or horse racing
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills
Computer Skills
- Strong MS Office Skills including Word, Power Point, Publisher and Excel
- Knowledge of internet features including experience with social media and web content management
