MacNevin Wins 2010 TCNHC Title

Dean MacNevin of Charlottetown, P.E.I. was crowned the 2010 Trot Canada National Handicapping Champion and awarded the $25,000 grand prize on Saturday night

at Georgian Downs.

Thirty-two horseplayers from across Canada converged at Georgian Downs to compete in the 2010 edition of the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship (TCNHC), hosted by Standardbred Canada. Each player was required to place wagers on five mandatory races from Western Fair (Race 4), Georgian Downs (Race 4, Race 8) and Woodbine Racetrack (Race 5, Race 8) along with 10 optional races from the remainder of the races on those cards.

MacNevin finished the night with the highest bankroll after making his wagers to earn the grand prize. Second through fifth place finishers also received prize money ranging from $1,000 to $100. Rounding out the top five finishers were Joe Sheehan of Hamilton, Ont., Brad Lichty of Elmira, Ont., Fred Jones of Sudbury, Ont. and Leonard Bell of Hamilton, Ont.
