McNair Wins Seven Including Leg One Of The Xtreme Enduro Series
Driver Doug McNair put on a driving clinic at Western Fair Raceway on Tuesday, winning seven times throughout the course of the 12-race card
.
McNair swept the Daily Double in Races 1 and 2 with Northern Fling (1:59.1) and Show Girl (2:00.4) before going back-to-back in Races 5 and 6 with Western Captive (1:58.1) and Rei Of Silver (2:02.4). He clicked with Pembroke Motion (2:00.1) in Race 8 and then again with Wantsomeofthis (1:58.3) before capping off his – and the program – with a come-from-behind tally with Mr Martin (3:09.4) in Race 12.
Mr Martin knocked off twelve foes en route to drawing first blood in the opening leg of the Xtreme Enduro Series – a 1-1/2 mile event for trotters. Despite making a break getting away from the gate, the six-year-old son of Yankee Glide regained his composure and rallied to win by a narrow margin over Docs Krista in the $7,000 tilt. Canadian Maple was a lapped-on third.
Terry Hunter of Troy, ON holds the papers on the gelding, who hangs his harness bag in the barn of trainer Pete Marostega. The victory was the seventh on the afternoon program for McNair, who has a commanding lead in Western Fair’s drivers’ race for the 2010 season.
The second Enduro event is scheduled for Wednesday, November 3 at Flamboro Downs. The third Enduro event will take place Tuesday, November 9 at Georgian Downs.
