Nanticoke Racing and Jim Morand's Tough Challenger ($5.60) broke Harrington Raceway's longest standing track record Wednesday with a 1:57.1 win in the sub-featured $19,000 Jr. Open Trot

.

Driven by Morand for trainer Les Givens, the three-year-old You Betcha colt broke a 12-year-old mark that was held by Jabaca (Jack Parker Jr., 1:57.3) in 1998 by scoring a front-stepping win in his Harrington debut. Tough Challenger is off to a great start in his career; he has won 15 of his 20 starts including the Mr Muscleman on May 21 at the Meadowlands and the Maryland Sires Stakes Final on August 28 at Ocean Downs. His earnings climbed to nearly $140,000 with tonight's win.

In the $22,000 Open Trot, Amy and Steward Oldford's Nordic Venture ($5, 1:57.3, Vince Copeland) earned his eighth win of the year over Spunky Vic and Gurf.
