Five Wins For Sparling Jr.
Driver Robert Sparling Jr. enjoyed a productive Saturday night at Hiawatha Horse Park scoring five wins on the 12-race card, including two in the End Of Season Claiming Series
.
Five $2,700 divisions kicked off the End Of Claiming Series for $3,500 claimers. Sparling Jr. drove World Of Outlaws and J L Tiger to victories in the series along with Matou Rose (1:57.4) and Idle Sun N (1:59) for trainer Rene Allard and Zeph Lyon (1:55.1) for Laetici Maslia.
Favourite World Of Outlaws recovered from an early break and paced to a three-length victory in 1:55.3 for owner-trainer Randy Marriage. The four-year-old son of World Harvest-Allamerican Toby was followed under the wire by Big N Rich Vmw (Nick Steward) and Sports Passion (Mark Pezzarello).
Sparling sent J L Tiger three-wide at the third quarter mark en route to a 1:57 victory for trainer Joe Pereira and The Merks Stable of New York. Vegas Venom (Alex Lilley) finished over a length behind with In The Raw (Alfred Carroll) closing well from the backfield for third.
Sparling, who is currently in the midst of a career best season, has won 137 time this year and earned over $760,000 in purses. Lifetime, he has recorded 485 wins and earned over $2.7 million.
Kable Kar Hanover (1:56), Royal Grin (1:57), Toastin Albert (1:55.1) also picked up wins in the End Of Season Claiming Series opener.
