Productive Weekend In Quebec For Barrieau

Two more victories Sunday completed a productive weekend at Hippodrome de Quebec for veteran driver/trainer Marcel Barrieau

.

In all, he captured four of the $5,000 Serie Quebecoise de Retour preliminaries for Quebec-bred trotters and pacers aged two and three presented Saturday and Sunday.

Barrieau's wins Sunday were with two-year-old pacing filly Izzabee (2:02.1) and two-year-old pacing colt Sole Mio (2:04.2). On Saturday, he prevailed with three-year-old pacing colt Sambucca Mystic (1:58.3) and three-year-old pacing filly Zoes Turn (2:01).

Stephane Brosseau had three victories over the two days and Sylvain Lacaille and Yves Filion each had a pair.

The fastest winners in each division were two-year-old trotter Fauvette Gale (2:03), two-year-old pacing filly Stylish Bayama (2:00.1), two-year-old pacing colt Winning Dream (1:59.3), three-year-old trotting filly Rea Bayama (2:05), three-year-old pacing colt Sambucca Mystic (1:58.3), three-year-old trotting colt Lorenzo Dream (2:02) and three-year-old pacing filly Sans Frontiere (1:58.4).

The series semi-finals will be contested next weekend with the finals scheduled for Oct. 16 and 17.
