Vernon Downs has announced that it has changed its closing weekend for the 2010 race meet

The track will now close up for the year on Saturday, November 20. The card will have a 6:55 p.m. first-race post time.

Vernon has taken the two race dates which were supposed to be conducted on November 26 and 27 and has moved them to Thursday, October 21 and Thursday, October 28. Both of the cards will have 6:55 p.m. first-race post times.

Closing weekend activities, including closing night fireworks, all have been moved up to take place on November 20.

Earlier this week, Vernon Downs received approval from the New York State Racing and Wagering Board that the remainder of the 2010 race season has been approved.

Vernon Downs currently races a Thursday-Friday-Saturday race schedule which sees each program kick off with a 6:55 p.m. first-race post time.
