The Rick Zeron-trained Lady Rainbow has had a rocky road leading up to her $25,000 Breeders Crown elimination this Friday at Pocono Downs in Wilkes Barre, Penn

sylvania.

The two-year-old daughter of Muscles Yankee made a break in her Peaceful Way Stakes elimination (September 9) but still managed to finish fourth-placed-third. That performance allowed her to advance to the $466,000 final.

In the final, Lady Rainbow made a costly break early in the mile, but Zeron managed to reset the filly en route to finishing a respectable third. The performance earned the filly’s connections a payday of $55,920.

A $40,000 buy back as a yearling, Lady Rainbow will be making the fifth start of her career, and Zeron stated the filly is ready.

"I sent one of my men with her to Pocono (Downs), she didn't really eat all that well Tuesday night but she cleaned out the feed tub on Wednesday and she feels real good,” Zeron said. “We trained her a little bit and my man informed me today that she's on her game.

“She's a very versatile filly and she's very happy and doesn't have a bad attitude,” he added. “She enjoys her work and I'd imagine when she does behind the gate tomorrow night that she's all horse."

Lady Rainbow has freshman earnings of $91,802 for Zeron and the partnership of The Camel Club Stable, Rojan Stables and Herb Chambers. She has been assigned post two in Friday’s third race.
