Apeachtoremember, the 6-1 fourth choice in the field of seven, left from Post 3 and carved out fractions of :29, :59.2 and 1:28.4 before stopping the clock in 1:59.1. The popular Bjs Fancy (Allan Hohner) was the runner-up, finishing three and three-quarter lengths behind, while Celebrity Shark (Mario Rivest) inherited third-place after Check Le Look (David Dowling) was third placed fifth for causing interference in the stretch to pocket-sitter Aforgottendynasty (Gerry Belanger).
Trained by Paul Ruhl for owner-breeder James Ruhl of Tara, Ont., Apeachtoremember earned her fifth win of the year in 32 starts and pushed her earnings to $45,314. She is now a 24-time career winner with over $220,000 banked. The six-year-old daughter of Angus Hall-Peachpit Pearl paid $14.50 for the mild upset.
In other action, Juggernaut and Young Guns Series champion Enigma Hanover ($3.30) turned in another winning effort in his eighth race conditioning assignment. Trained and driven by Allan Hohner for owner R. K. Joe Miskokomon of Muncey, Ont., the three-year-old gelded son of The Panderosa-Eicarls Olvidar rallied off second over cover to win for the eighth consecutive time in 1:57.4 by one length. Sjs Nitelife (Paul MacLean) was second and Round About Fame (Jason Ryan) finished third.
The win was Enigma Hanover's 11th in 27 seasonal starts and lifted his 2010 earnings to $61,748.
