McGean Pupils Finish 1-2 In Northside Feature
Bruce McGean pupils Biffle and Sir Dutch took the top spots in Northside Downs’ featured $1,000 Winners Over Pace on Saturday afternoon
.
Biffle, driven by Greg Bailey, watched as his stablemate Sir Dutch (McGean) carved out fractions of :28.4, :58.2 and 1:29 with Cruisinart (Ryan Campbell) applying heavy pressure the entire time. The five-year-old gelded son of Jet Laag-Nights Flashlight then unleashed a :28.3 final frame to make up his three-length deficit and cruised to a six and three-quarter length score in 1:58.1. Sir Dutch stayed for second while Cruisin Art faded to last in the stretch. Odyssey Killean (Edgar Jacobs) quickly reset after making a break while attempting a three-wide move past three-quarters to show.
Biffle notched his fourth win in 29 seasonal starts for owner Jennifer McGean of Stewiacke, NS. He now sports 12 wins on his career record and $38,802 in earnings.
