A.T.S.S. Colts Impressive In Inverness
The Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old pacing colts trucked into Inverness Raceway Sunday afternoon, providing some exciting harness racing action at the half-mile oval

Putnams Power won the first $9,920 “A” division event with driver Danny Romo in the bike in a time of 1:59.3, equaling the track record two-year-old colts at the Inverness track. The two-year-old colt has been undefeated in Atlantic Sires Stakes action so far this season and the win brings his lifetime earnings to just under $30,000 for owners Ronald Seymour, Jr. and Bruce Donovan of Glace Bay, NS. Finishing second was Pictonians Souwest while Aarons Ambition was third.
The second “A” division event of the afternoon went to J G S Sandy, with Todd Trites holding the lines, in a time of 2:01 for owner Angus MacLean of Port Hood, NS. Second place honours went to Enforcore with Tiger Williams finishing third.
The lone $2,500 “B” division event on the race card was won by Island Commander and driver Todd Trites in a time of 2:01.3 for owners Roderick Gillis of Sydney Mines, NS, and James Gillis of Summerside, PEI.
The Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old pacing colts next see action at Northside Downs in North Sydney on September 25.
