Andre Trudelle Passes

Andre Trudelle, a longtime horse racing writer for Montreal daily newspaper La Presse, has passed away at age 81 from the complications of lung cancer

.

A jovial, cultured man who retired in 2003, Trudelle worked 50 years for La Presse in a variety of capacities. In the 1950s, he covered the Montreal Canadiens during the Maurice Richard years, as he travelled with the hockey team by train.

In recent years, he wrote a bridge column.

He leaves second wife Beatrice Picard and six children.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
