'Buck I'/'Wasabi' Entry Heads Conway Hall
World Champion Buck I St Pat will lead eight rivals into battle on Friday night at Vernon Downs in the $150,000 Conway Hall Trot for distaffers
.
The Conway Hall has been carded as Race 6 on the program which will get underway with a 6:55 p.m. first-race post time.
Buck I St Pat, the seven-year-old trotting sensation, will look to repeat in the Conway Hall, as she captured the 2009 edition in track record time for aged trotting mares (1:54.3).
Campaigned from the mighty Burke Stable, Buck I St Pat will be part of a two-horse wagering entry with Southwind Wasabi. The daughter of Windsongs Legacy captured the third leg of the Miss Versatility Trotting Series at Vernon on September 2 in track record time for four-year old trotting mares (1:53).
Trainer Ron Burke has listed regular pilot Tim Tetrick to steer Buck I St Pat, and will turn Southwind Wasabi's lines over to Josh Marks, who guided the mare in her last Vernon assignment. The entry has been listed as the 7-5 morning line choice, but post position could prove to be somewhat on an equalizer in the affair, as Southwind Wasabi and Buck I St Pat will start from Posts 7 and 8, respectively.
The field for the Conway Hall appears below.
