Submit Your Funny Horse Video, Win Cash

September 30 is only a few weeks away, and with it comes the end of the entry period for the University of Arizona Race Track Industry Program’s '$1,500 Funniest Horse

Racing Video Contest.'

Since launching in June, the contest has attracted a small but competitive field which is still wide-open. The opportunity is great for a longshot to claim the $1,000 winner’s share, so don’t wait to submit your entry!

“We look forward to seeing some ‘deep closers’ in the next few weeks who can add to the entries we have already,” said Doug Reed, director of the Race Track Industry Program.

This is the first time the RTIP has offered a public contest in connection with its annual Symposium on Racing & Gaming. The contest is open to anyone, even those with little experience in the racing industry. The idea is to capture the fun of the races from any viewpoint. Videos can feature anything racing-related, from a funny call to a friend telling a joke; to a guy you saw at the rail last weekend and caught describing his handicapping superstitions. The possibilities are endless and your creativity could be rewarded handsomely!

Video submissions are still being accepted via YouTube. September 30 is the final day for entries, so there is still time to get your flip cameras or cell phones to the track (or the OTB, or the bar, or your TV room)! Finalists will be chosen by an online vote. The winners will be chosen by attendees at the 2010 Symposium on Racing & Gaming, held December 6-9 at the Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson, Arizona.

  • First Place will receive $1,000
  • Second Place will receive $350
  • Third Place will receive $150
