Track & Stakes Record For Ticket To Rock

Ticket To Rock took the lead with a :26.4 opening quarter mile and coasted to a record-setting 1:52.3 victory Saturday in the $100,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Premier Division Championship Final for three-year-old pacing fillies at Freehold Raceway

.

With David Miller driving, the daughter of Rocknroll Hanover, won by four and three-quarter lengths over Rockn Highland (by Rocknroll Hanover), as By Your Side (Western Ideal) finished third.

The sophomore filly’s winning performance erased the previous NJSS mark of 1:53.1 established in 2005 by JK Songndance and matched four more times, twice in 2008 by Happy Dreamer. The time of the mile also lowered the track record for sophomore fillies, set by Showherthemoney in 2009, by one fifth of a second.

It was the fourth consecutive and seventh win overall in 12 starts this year for Ticket To Rock, owned by the Jack Darling Stables of Cambridge, ON and trained by Casie Coleman. With the $50,000 winner’s share of the purse, the filly has now earned $189,850 this year and $438,341 in her career.

In other NJ-sired action, I Kill Time (Western Ideal) in 1:56.4 and Myluvmylife (Rocknroll Hanover) in 1:57 won elimination races for the two-year-old filly division final of the Lou Babic Memorial Pace on September 2 at Freehold. Also, making the final were three fillies by Rocknroll Hanover, Kill A Rockingbird, Rocknroll Leah and Pot Limit, and three by Western Ideal, Show The World, Dutchs Gal and Ideals Oath.
