Enigma Hanover Sweeps Juggernaut Series

Enigma Hanover pulled off a sweep of the Juggernaut Series with another front end effort for trainer-driver Allan Hohner in Saturday night’s $20,700 final at Sudbury Downs

.

The Juggernaut Series is for non-winners of two races or $20,000 lifetime (F/M 3R or $30,000) as of July 28, 2010 that are five years old or younger.

After winning his two opening legs of the series, 2-1 favourite Enigma Hanover left quickly from Post 5 in the finale and reached the opening quarter in :28.4.

From there, a parked out Cinema Classic (Mario Rivest) rushed up and applied pressure past the :58.3 half but was rebuffed by the leader as he headed around the turn and into the backstretch.

Three-quarters was up in 1:27.3 with Enigma Hanover leading the way and opening up nearly five lengths on the field into the stretch. The three-year-old son of Panderosa-Eicarls Olvidar was much the best as he stopped the clock in 1:56.3 to establish a new lifetime mark. First leg winner Chapter (Jeff Nowoselsky) finished second and Stonebridge Elan (Paul MacLean) was third.

Enigma Hanover paid $2.00 to win. Lightly raced at two, Enigma Hanover has put together a record of 7-2-4 in 23 starts this year while banking $27,248 for owner R. K. Joe Miskokomon of Muncey, ON.
