Even Silent Messages Are Effective

Not all messages need to be shouted from the mountain tops, but it does not hurt

to make them highly visible.

The Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey took a cue from the advertisers who fly prop planes over the Garden State’s coastline to catch the eye of beachgoers.

In this case, the objective was to share the message with the nearly 27,000 attending the Hambletonian at the Meadowlands Racetrack on August 7, 2010 as well as thousands more watching at simulcasting locations or on NBC TV’s one-hour national broadcast.

The red banner, pulled by the single-engine plane, read: Save the Meadowlands & Save the Hambo.

The previous day at the Summit on Gaming, the SBOANJ distributed t-shirts worn by many of the nearly 200 racetrack supporters who attended the hearings at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
