Coleman Filly Lowers Georgian Record Again
The Casie Coleman-trained Idyllic front-stepped her way to a 1:53.2 victory at Georgian Downs on Saturday night, lowering the track’s freshman filly pacing record, set by her stablemate Pretty Katherine
on Friday, by three-fifths of a second.
With Robert Shepherd at the lines, Idyllic advanced to the lead from fourth ahead of Windsong Glamorous (Stephen Byron) after the :27.4 first quarter in the $9,000 event for fillies and mares that are non-winners of one race or $10,000 lifetime. The daughter of American Ideal-Magical Dreamer led the rest of the way hitting markers of :56.2 and 1:24.3 before stopping the timer in 1:53.2. The odds-on favourite held off the pocket-pulling Warrawee Lil (Scott Zeron) by a neck. Windsong Glamorous finished seven and three-quarter lengths back in third.
Idyllic ($3.50) is owned by the West Wins Stable of Cambridge, ON, Michael and Joseph Lacova of West Islip, New York and John Campagnuolo of Loxahatchee, Florida. The daughter of America Ideal-Magical Dreamer is undefeated in two starts and has banked $12,500 so far in her career.
