Talespinner Is The Talk Of The Town
The highly-regarded Talespinner will return to the racetrack this Thursday night at Mohawk Racetrack when he headlines a pair of $20,000 divisions in the opening leg of the Bridger Trotting Series for two-year-olds
.
The rookie son of Conway Hall–Fairy Tail has not seen action since action since wowing fans with a ninth-to-first 1:57 victory in his career debut on July 26 at Mohawk. The clocking is the fastest by a freshman trotter in Canada this season.
The eye-catching effort drew widespread attention from fans and horsepeople and spurred some attractive offers for the colt. According to the connections, he is not for sale at this point and they feel he could be something special.
“I knew this colt had talent but I’ve never seen a two-year-old do what he did the other night in their first start,” said Mario Baillargeon following the colt’s initial win. “He went around those horses like a pacer and I didn’t even ask him. His last eighth was his best eighth in the mile.”
Talespinner will start from post seven in Thursday’s second division in race four. He has been installed as the overwhelming 4-5 choice in the morning line with Mario Baillargeon scheduled to drive for brother Ben who does the training.
The 5-2 morning line choice in the opening contest is Tymal Colossus who will start from post five for driver Rick Zeron. The Jack Wray trainee finished second in an OSS Gold elim in his career debut but unfortunately made a break in stride and finished eighth in the final.
