Crys Dream Takes In Free Final
Crys Dream established a new In Free Trotting Series stakes record with a 1:57.4 victory in the $50,000 final on Sunday night at Mohawk Racetrack
.
With owner Jean Pierre Dubois in the driver’s seat, the daughter of Taurus Dream–Crystas Image, racing as part of a four-horse entry, left hard from post eight and was parked past the first quarter in :28.2 before clearing her entry mate Nuriev Dream on the way to the half.
Once on top, Crys Dream was able to back down the second panel to a :31.1 clip while leading the field past the half in :59.3. The breather was all she needed as Crys Dream remained strong the rest of the way with a solid :58.1 final half to win easily.
As Yall Like It rallied around stalled cover on the final turn to finish in the runner-up spot, with Martiniontherocks closing from far back to pick up the show dough. The winner returned $4.60 as the bettor’s choice.
The victory was the second in just three starts this season for Crys Dream who is trained by Henrik Hollsten. The winner’s share of the purse boosted her earnings to just over $36,000.
