Harkness Missed At Grand Circuit Week

"This week it felt like he was just outside my door. I could almost hear his voice."

And Standardbred Canada Field Representative Diane Daniels, who provided the above quote, is not the only one to find the absence of the late Doug Harkness at Truro Raceway's Atlantic Grand Circuit Week very tough to get used to.

An article by the Truro Daily News also quotes Scott Daniels as saying that the lack of Harkness' physical presence at the event just doesn't seem right.

"It seems odd not to have him here this year," Scott was quoted as saying. "I especially noticed his absence during the Sunday opening ceremonies. He would have been out there introducing everyone."

Another shout out to Diane Daniels who is by far the most passionate and friendly field representative for Standardbred Canada that I have ever come across.Without her I am sure that things would be a lot bleaker at Truro Raceway.
Much thanks.

God bless Doug as I have only met him once, but have seen him numerous times at Truro Raceway and he is truly missed by me also.Great man in supporting racing here in the maritimes.Another moment of silence by me for you now Mr.Harkness.
