Kindergarten Series Kicks Off
First time winners Seducedbychocolate and Sizzling Volo captured their $10,000 opening leg divisions of the Kindergarten Series for two-year-old trotting fillies
featured on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
Seducedbychocolate and driver David Miller converted from the pocket with a :29.1 final frame to win the opener in 1:57.4 by a head over leader Celebrity Katie (John Campbell). Lady Bella (George Brennan) finished four lengths back in third.
Seducedbychocolate paid $5.20 to win as the 3-2 popular choice. The daughter of Chocolatier-Seducer Hall, who finished third while making her first start in a New Jersey Sires Stakes division on July 7 at the Meadowlands, is trained by Jonas Czernyson for Maximum Force Inc. of Delray Beach, Florida.
With Brian Sears in the bike, Sizzling Volo survived a first over journey to win the second split by nearly three lengths in 1:58.4. A :29-second final frame propelled her to victory over pacesetter Celebrity Obsession (Tim Tetrick). Longshot Temple Of Heaven (Trond Smedshammer) was third.
The 3-2 second choice paid $5.60 to win. The homebred Yankee Glide-Cookout filly, trained by Jan Johnson for Jorgen Jahre Jr. of Sandefjord, Norway, broke her maiden in her second lifetime start. She made a miscue while debuting in a maiden event on June 30 at the Meadowlands and is coming off a 2:00 victory in a qualifier on July 15. She is a full sister to NJSS champion Nordicdish and a half-sister to New York Sires Stakes winner Grill Now, by Speedy Crown.
