ATSS To North Sydney, Fredericton
Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action will heat up again this week, as both North Sydney and Fredericton Racetrack play host to some of the best young horses in the Maritimes.
There will be no shortage of trotters at Northside Downs on Tuesday evening, as the two and three-year old ATSS competitors meet at the North Sydney oval. Three divisions of three-year-old trotters will each go for a purse of $4,000, and two divisions of the two-year-old trotters will each go for $5,340. The racing action will then head to Fredericton Raceway on Wednesday evening when the two-year-old pacing colts and fillies roll into town. The colts will go in three 'A' divisions for a purse of $7,380 each, and one 'B' division will go for $2,500. Meanwhile, the fillies will go in two 'A' divisions for $9,760 each and two 'B' divisions will go for $2,500. ATSS action will return to Northside Downs on Saturday, July 24 when the three-year-old pacing fillies get together for some friendly competition.
Points earned in each ATSS 'A' division and trot event go towards earning entry into the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown. This year’s championship weekend will be hosted by Truro Raceway October 8-10.
