Flight Elal Breaks Maiden At Scioto
Flight Elal used a fast final half to capture a two-year-old maiden pace at Scioto on Thursday in 1:56.3
. The son of Panspacificflight was driven to victory by trainer Jim Dailey.
Flight Elal left quickly from the inside position, then yielded to favored No Satin Intended and driver Dan Noble past the opening quarter. The field reached the half-mile marker in a comfortable 1:00.
No Satin Intended pick up the pace during a third quarter in :28.1 with Flight Elal still sitting on his back. Around the final turn, Dailey launched his attack on the pacesetter and overtook him in the stretch. At the wire, Flight Elal had a half-length on Fiftytwoflat (Allamerican Native) who paced past No Satin Intended in the stretch.
The final half-mile was paced in :56.3.
The winner is owned by breeders Kenneth Cohen and Pacey Mindlin of Ohio. The gelding paid $16.60 to win in his first pari-mutuel start.
