Hiawatha Track Record For Twin B Rawley

WEG circuit regulars Twin B Rawley and Mattscape Seelster headed to Sarnia, ON on Saturday night and picked up a pair of victories

in their respective Preferred assignments.

Favourite Twin B Rawley blazed to a 1:56.1 track record mile in the co-featured $10,000 Preferred 2 Pace. The six-year-old son of Malabar Maple-Dashings Dream left from Post 6 for trainer-driver Gord McKnight and carved out fractions of :28.1, :57.3 and 1:26.3 en route to four and half length score over Twentymillionthfan (Terry Kerr) and Fa Mulan (Mark Williams). The time of the mile shaved two-fifths of a second off the previous record held by Home Stretch.

Owned by Rusty and Deanna Spitzig of Courtright, ON, Twin B Rawley has won five times in 20 starts earning over $55,000. The winner of 18 races lifetime now sports a bankroll of $242,286.

In the matching pacing event one race later, Mattscape Seelster and driver Dave Wall took top honours winning in front-end fashion as well. The eight-year-old son of Artiscape-Mattjestic paced past stations of :26.4, :57.2 and 1:24.3 before crossing the wire in 1:52.1, one length ahead of Grand Bend Turbo (Mark Pezzarello) and Taylor C (D Johnson).

The fan favourite picked up his second win in 19 outings this year and watched his earnings jump to over $41,000. The winner of 22 races lifetime and $609,315 is trained and owned by Jerry Sims.
