Stewart High On Ultimate Cameron
The best three-year-old trotting fillies in North America will be showcased Friday night in the Elegantimage Stakes and trainer Bob Stewart is looking for a large payday
.
After winning the 2002 event with double-millionaire Cameron Hall, Stewart is back with her daughter, Ultimate Cameron. The Yankee Glide miss was victorious in her division of the Casual Breeze last Friday at Mohawk Racetrack for driver Trevor Richie and owner Diamond Creek Farm.
Ultimate Cameron earned $224,394 last year with her biggest payday was finishing second to Poof Shes Gone in the Breeders Crown final. Bob Stewart remains very optimistic of her chances in the Elegantimage and having a successful three-year-old campaign.
“Through the course of last year she would always race well, but never great. She never had the killer instinct that her mother (Cameron Hall) had until the Breeders Crown final were she finished a very strong second to Poof Shes Gone,” said Stewart. “Coming into this year I thought we had a good filly. She trained very well all winter and I certainly like our chances now after her victory in the Casual Breeze. She’s beginning to resemble her mother.”
