Trotters Contests DSBF Elims
The first leg of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Stakes for three-year-old trotters was contested at Harrington Raceway on Sunday
, with four $20,000 eliminations on tap.
Rod Allen’s Airborne Commando was the fastest winner in the colt divisions thanks to his front-stepping score in 2:01. Allen guided the youngster to the seven-length win over Par Done My Putt and Wygant Knight.
Susan Durham and Linda MacDonald’s Leland won the other elimination in 2:04.1 for driver Brad Hanners. He held off a fast-closing YMI Special in deep stretch for the win. Strike N Cash finished third.
On the filly side it was Erika Paradee’s Chocolate N Roses triumphed in 2:01 for driver Bret Brittingham. The filly gained ground late to hold off Punks Embrace in a tight photo. What Would You Do was third.
In the second elimination, Nanticoke Racing’s Miss Snazz halted the teletimer in 2:03.1 for teamster Jim Morand. She cruised to a two-length win over Par Ones Joy and Commando Chic.
The DSBF pacing fillies will get underway Tuesday June 15, while the colts race Wednesday June 16.
