Life Savior One Of Three For MacEachern
Life Savior converted a pocket ride to win the Wednesday night feature race in 1:59.1 at Red Shores at
Summerside Raceway.
Marc Campbell engineered the winning trip for owner Kevin MacMillan of O'Leary, PE and trainer Duane MacEachern. MacEachern's other trainee, Porthill Alf, cut out the fractions of :28.2, :58.2 and 1:29.1 before fading in the stretch to finish fourth. Tobins Paradise was second for driver Robert Laffin while Blue Meadow Willie, under the command of Bob MacInnis, completed the
triactor.
With the win, Life Savior, a five-year-old gelded son of Life Sign, improved his seasonal record to 3-2-0 in six outings.
MacEachern also sent out two more winners during the 12-race card to complete a hat trick. Owned by Marvyn Webster of Kensington, PE, Porthill Galaxy (2:00.1) and Mike Stevenson teamed up to win the seventh race while Porthill G B F (2:03.3) and Corey MacPherson won the following dash.
Racing returns Thursday and Saturday night at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Post time is 7 p.m. The card features a number of new wagers including an early and late daily double, Pick 6 roll-over, Pick 4 and a new ticket called Wild Horses which carries a Jackpot. The $25,000 Big Win Big Spin promotion also continues on the racing, dining and gaming offers. The first weekly draw is June 12.
