Dreamfair Eternal Triples
The outside post position didn’t hinder Dreamfair Eternal one bit as she went for three-in-a-row in the $38,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace Friday night at
Mohawk Racetrack.
As the gate swung open, Dreamfair Eternal, known for tracking down her rivals late in the race, tucked into fourth position from Post 7 with Randy Waples aboard and waited until she neared the third quarter before making her move.
Voelz Hanover (Mario Baillargeon) put up the :26.3 opening quarter before Arts Diva (Luc Ouellette) pulled the pocket and moved up to take over as they straightened up down the backstretch. She reached the half in :55 and three-quarters in 1:22.4 while Dreamfair Eternal sprung into action, unleashing a :27.3 final frame to win in 1:50.3. Voelz Hanover finished 2-3/4 lengths behind while Racing Star (Steve Condren) closed well to grab third over Arts Diva.
Dreamfair Eternal returned $3.50 to win as the 3-5 popular choice. The six-year-old daughter of Camluck-J Cs Nathalie, who has won three of her four starts this season and $66,500 is trained by Pat Fletcher and owned by breeder John Lamers of Ingersoll, ON. Last year’s O’Brien Award winner in the aged pacing mare category now has 32 wins to her credit and lifetime earnings totaling $832,915.
