Canada's First 2YO Winner

Blissfull Hall filly Hi Maintenancechic became Canada's first two-year-old winner of 2010 with a

one-length score in 1:58.4 during Friday's qualifying session at Flamboro Downs.

With Kelly Shephard in the bike for trainer Sue Gangell, Hi Maintenancechic left from Post 1 in the fifth qualifier and gave way to Elite Din Pach (Anthony MacDonald) at the first quarter in :29 before being shuffled to third as the parked out Camalamadingdong (Corey Giles) took over. After following through middle splits of :58.3 and 1:29.1, Hi Maintenancechic sprinted home in :29.2 for the victory.

John Devito, Whitestone of New York owns the freshman filly out of the Falcon Future mare Rebeccas Filly. Hi Maintenancechic is a full sister to Kansas Wildcat, a career winner of $214,659 with a mark of 1:50.2 taken at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
