Inverness To Host ATSS Sunday
The excitement level is sure to be at an all-time high on Sunday afternoon as Inverness Raceway will celebrate its opening day of the season and also play host to the Atlantic Sires Stakes' three-year-old pacing colts
.
It will be the first time the colts have met this race year, but many familiar names from the two-year-old season will take to the track, including last year’s Atlantic Breeders Crown champion Allbentouttashape.
The three-year-old colt, owned by the Dooley Boys Racing Stable of Halifax, NS, garnered both awards and race fans across the Maritimes last season and he’s sure to be challenged by many other fine colts as the quest for the Atlantic Breeders Crown begins.
The Atlantic Sires Stakes racing program is slated to take place at eight race tracks across the Maritimes this year. Colts and fillies earning the most points throughout the season earn a spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown championships. This year’s event will take place in Truro, NS, October 8, 9 and 10.
There will be two 'A' divisions on Sunday’s race card, going for a purse pool of $9,700 each. One 'B' division will go for $2500.
First-race post time at Inverness Raceway on Sunday is 1:30 p.m.
