Mach It Paid Retired
Trot Insider has learned that Mach It Paid, Georgian Downs' 2008 Pacer of the Year, has been retired
.
Owner Isaac Waxman informed Trot Insider Wednesday afternoon that the six-year-old gelded son of Mach Three has seen his last race.
"He had some problems and we had given him a good deal of time off," Waxman explained. "We tried to bring him back, but he just hasn't been good since."
From 83 career starts, the winner of over $193,000 in purses had compiled a record of 20-10-12. His mark of 1:51.3 was taken at Georgian Downs' five-eighths mile oval in 2008 at age four. The mark-lowering mile came just two starts before he won the $58,500 final of the Kempenfelt Pacing Series.
"Mach It Paid was the horse that I got my first driving win with, and he was also the first yearling I bought," Waxman explained. "He was like a pet to me."
