Rock Me Please Romps

One of the most impressive performances of the night on Monday at Mohawk Racetrack was turned in by a colt who could pop up later this summer in Canada’s richest harness race

.

That race is the $1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup and the horse is the Bob McIntosh trainee, Rock Me Please. The strapping son of Rocknroll Hanover-Please Me Please, in rein to Steve Condren, made a powerful rush to the top shortly past the half in the $20,000 conditioned assignment. Once in command of the pace he rolled the field to the three-quarter pole in 1:23.2 before finishing off the competition with a :27.2 final frame.

The colt drew off to win by four lengths in a career-best clocking of 1:50.4 over Playboy Killean. Cane Ridge was third.

Rock Me Please, who is listed at 38-1 in the Trot Magazine 2010 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book, improved this year’s record to 2-1-0 in three tries with the win. The victory bumped his overall bankroll to $211,207 for Susan Grange’s Lothlorien of Cheltenham, ON.
