Scorpion Moon (Greg Merton) captured the $14,000 Class A Trot on Saturday night at Tioga Downs

Merton put Scorpion Moon on the engine through fractions of :27.3, :57.2, and 1:26.1 before sprinting away through the final panel in :28.1 to stop the teletimer in 1:54.2.

It was the fifth win in thirteen outings for the nine-year-old son of Armbro Scorpion-Angies Nugget, and with the win increased his seasonal earnings to more than $97,000. Jon Win (Corey Braden) who captured the Class A trot two weeks ago, used a pocket trip to finish second, while Andover America (Bruce Ranger) finished third.
