Bronson Hall Wins Spring Cleaning Final

Trainer John Janes probably won’t want to talk about his beloved Montreal Canadiens in the morning, but he’ll gladly strike up a conversation about pacer Bronson Hall

.

After all, the 10-year-old son of Cambest won for the second time in as many tries for Janes thanks to his front-stepping score in Sunday’s $17,500 final of the Spring Cleaning Stake at Clinton Raceway.

J. R. Plante rolled Bronson Hall to immediate command from post four and supplied the field with early fractions of :28.1, :58.1 and 1:28.4 before sprinting home in :29.2 to seal the deal in 1:58.1. Brookfieldpoketime tagged along throughout the mile and finished more than two lengths back in second while Volcan Duharas rallied to grab the show dough.

The pacer has more than paid for himself since being scooped up for $6,500 by owner David Gage of Brantford, ON. The gelding picked up $8,750 this afternoon after grabbing a $1,600 payday last week. The 45-time winning has banked more than $246,000 to date.

The Sunday matinee also featured the second leg of the Spring Cleaning Stake for filly and mare pacers. Kaleidescope (1:57.4), Sarastar (1:58.3), Astrophysical (1:58.4), Blackrivers Fame (1:59.3) and Straight Tequila (1:58.3) captured their respective $3,200 divisions.

Clinton also hosted the opening leg of a $3,500 claiming series for trotters. Treasure Best (2:01), Last King (2:03.1) and Nawigo (2:03.3) captured their respective $2,800 assignments.
