Another Anticipated Qualifying Day Set
Thursday's qualifying sessions from Mohawk Racetrack and the Meadowlands Racetrack will pack a punch once again. In addition to a good handful of talent, Sportswriter will be putting in his second charted mile of the season, and Down Under pacing star Auckland Reactor will be getting more
work.
The O'Brien Award-winning Sportswriter, who has been gauged as the 3-1 favourite in Trot Magazine's 2010 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book, will be making his second charted mile of the season in Race 5. Trainer Casie Coleman said last week that she was pleased with the way that the 2009 Metro Pace winner performed in his seasonal charted debut. Brian Sears has been listed to drive the son of Artsplace. It will be Sears' first time behind the $875,411 career earner.
Two other three-year-olds will also be contesting Race 5, as the Dr. Ian Moore-trained Bettors Delight colt Malicious will be putting in his second qualifying effort of the season. Dr. Moore has listed himself to perform the driving duties. Affleck, the Blair Burgess-trained son of Real Desire, will be making his first start since the final of the Diplomat Pacing Series.
The session will kick off with a pair of millionaires duking it out, as aged pacers Our Lucky Killean and To Helen Back are scheduled to do battle.
Three-year-old You See L A, a bay daughter of The Panderosa trained by Bob McIntosh, will be qualifying in Race 4. She was recently scratched 'sick' out of a Pennsylvania Sires Stakes event at the Meadows.
Race 10 will see three-year-old Western Terror filly Western Silk put in her third qualifying effort of the season for trainer Casie Coleman and driver Mark MacDonald. Three-year-old Grinfromeartoear filly Tiz To Dream will also be qualifying for trainer Gregg McNair and driver Doug McNair.

Breeders Crown winner and Hambletonian hopeful Pilgrims Taj, the three-year-old trotting colt trained by Monte Gelrod, is expected to be making his seasonal charted debut in Race 3 for driver Mike Lachance.
In what will be her third qualifying effort of the season for trainer Jimmy Takter and driver Ron Pierce, three-year-old Muscles Yankee filly Costa Rica has been drawn to perform in Race 5.
With Dan Dube to be in the bike, four-year-old Western Ideal horse Vintage Master is scheduled to make his second qualifying performance of the year for trainer Jimmy Takter in Race 9.
Three-year-old Rocknroll Hanover colt Woodstock (22-1 in Spring Book) will be contesting Race 11 for driver Tim Tetrick and trainer Noel Daley. The mile will be the second qualifier of the season for the colt.
In what will be his second qualifying mile of the season, three-year-old Cams Card Shark colt All Speed Hanover (6-1 in Spring Book) will be contesting Race 12 for driver Ron Pierce and trainer Noel Daley.
