High Net Worth Eye-Catching In Ontario Spring Series
High Net Worth turned in an eye-catching rally to capture the first $20,000 Ontario Spring Series division for driver Paul MacKenzie in 1:53.1. The son of Royal Mattjesty used a blistering :26.1 final quarter to easily overhaul pacesetting Businessorpleasure (Randy Waples) by 1-1/2 lengths with Tigers Mattjesty (Mike Saftic) rounding out the top three.
“Last week, I got gapped out quite a bit but he paced strong right to the wire,” said winning driver Paul MacKenzie of his 10th to fourth effort. “Tonight now, he was a little closer and he paced again right down to the wire. Yeah, he’s got a good kick to him.”
High Net Worth kicked back a win ticket worth $5.50 to his backers.
It was the third win in eight starts this season for the John Ciarpelli trainee, who is owned by Anne Della Maestra of Waterdown and Faye Antoniou of Waterloo, ON. The winner’s share of the purse bumped his career total to just over $40,000.
The $60,000 Ontario Spring Series final will go postward next Saturday at Woodbine.
