Joe Faraldo, president of the North American Amateur Drivers Association, stated a week ago that the organization, which just completed its two-track trotting series, will donate drivers’ percentages from the final two events

of the competition to the Richie Ingrassia Fund.

Upon the completion of the $12,000 final event at Yonkers Raceway on Wednesday, May 5, all the participating drivers in that race donated their driving percentages to the Richie Ingrassia Fund. Afterwards the drivers gathered in the winner’s circle where they presented a symbolic cheque for $1,250 to members of the Ingrassia Family.

“It was our pleasure to donate to such a worthy cause,” Faraldo said. “We also added another $250 from driving percentages from the series race at Monticello last week and we presented the Ingrassias with a cheque for $1,500 from the NAADA membership.”

Richie Ingrassia, son of longtime horsemen, Ron Ingrassia, was taken suddenly on March 30 after a short illness. He is survived by his wife Kelly and two young children, Richie Jr. (7) and Hanna (6). A relief fund has been established to help raise money for the family who faces a future of some uncertainty.
